The new Netflix movie “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before,” which is also a popular novel and New York Times best-selling series, has been a current topic that many people have been raving about, especially the young adult and teen audiences.

The romantic comedy illustrates a quirky love story about  Lara Jean, the main character, and the private love letters that she wrote to her crushes throughout her life.

She finds that the letters have been sent to each crush that she wrote a letter to, and has to face them herself and deal with the mess on her plate.

Although it seems like a situation gone wrong, Lara Jean finds unexpected love from this experience.

Senior Valerie Lauretta is a big fan of the movie.

She said, “I thought it was going to be another cliche teen romance movie, but it stood out from all the others with the different storyline and the love letters. The letters made it unique.”

I also thought that the letters added something diverse that separated the film from any other romance movie.

Sophomore Grayson Doucet also enjoyed the different storyline as well as the acting.

She said, “I thought the movie was very interesting and entertaining to watch.

“It’s not what you would expect from a common teen romance film, and I think that’s what’s making it such a hit. It was also good to see different actors and actresses that people are not familiar with, and I thought they all did a pretty good job.”

The new faces that were featured in this film are becoming very popular very quickly, especially the main character, Lara Jean, who is played by Lana Condor.

Many people have been talking about the fact that the lead role is an Asian American female, which is rare to see in a teen romantic comedy.

Junior Himali Glor, who is also Asian-American, said, “It was nice to see someone as the lead role who I felt like I could relate with more because of her race or ethnicity. From having “Crazy Rich Asians” just come out to this, I think it’s going to become more common to see people of the Asian race star in big movies.”

This film has also become very popular because people feel that they can relate to it on a more personal level.

Junior Abby Owen said, “I like how the movie was cute and cheesy, but I also I think they made a lot of teenagers happy by showing that you don’t have to be afraid to tell your crush how you feel, and things don’t always turn out how you think they will.

“I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone that might be in the same situation as the girl in the movie, or to anyone that loves a good rom-com.”

This movie is filled with everything that you would expect from a typical teen romance movie. It has the heart-warming love story, the cute boy that has all the teenage girls going crazy, and the twisted plot that makes it intriguing.
