Have you ever had an urge to show off your acting skills? Or just love stage lights and organizing? Then the all-new Dimond Drama Club may be for you. Drama Club offers hand-on stage experiences as well as the opportunity to express yourself through acting, dancing or singing. Club Representative Senior Ross McCrorie says, “Honestly you make more friends and meet people more than anything,” recalling his successful and fun years apart of the drama department. Wilma Keller, a science teacher at Dimond, is the club sponsor. Keller, who is also the head of the Drama Department, will be offering her coaching expertise and will be the director for a number of plays. The Drama Department has been active for many years, although this is the first year for the student-led club. Over the years the Dimond Drama Department has hosted many outstanding plays and musicals. McCrorie says, “This year’s music should be new and exciting,” referring to this year’s musical “Hello Dolly”. Club President Senior Justin Oller says shows included “Hello Dolly,” which just concluded, and one-act plays during the winter. In the spring, another play, “The Three Musketeers,” will be presented. Membership in the Dimond Drama Club will provide insight and involvement, says Oller.
