Call of Duty has been a favorite game of shooter fans. With all of their titles ranging from Xbox, Xbox 360, playstation 2, playstation 3, and PC versions. Activision publishes the games with Infinity Ward and Treyarch being the main developers The first three titles are set in during World War II. The first Call of Duty was released in 2004, And feature American paratroopers, British paratroopers, and the Red Army. The second and third titles of the franchise follow the same storylines but were released on the Xbox 360 instead of the normal Xbox which allowed for better graphics. Call of Duty then stepped away from the WWII storyline and went into the present, the first to be in a time other than WWII was Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Call of Duty 4: Modern warfare was a game mainly for multiplayer. The game sold nearly 13 million copies and is still continued to be played to this day even though it’s a five year old game. Call Of Duty: World at War was a WWII based game that had major multiplayer gameplay, which was developed by Treyarch. After a huge success from CoD4, World At War was a popular title with 11 million copies sold. A major feature of World at War was the Zombie gameplay in which you have to survive rounds of endless zombies with a group of four or less. This feature made the game popular between campaign lovers and multiplayer players alike. And introduced downloadable content which could be purchased and added new items maps and gameplay to the title. This feature made it into the newest Call Of Duty: Black Ops II. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was the next in the franchise, made by Infinity Ward and was next in the storyline following Modern Warfare one. The game grossed more than 1 billion in sales. Treyarch Released Cod: Black ops soon after with the added zombie feature again which made it very popular with the people who liked zombies from world at war. The Multiplayer also improved from World at War and Black ops was not a WWII based game. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the most recent title released by Infinity Ward in November 2011. The game was popular among first person shooter fans because of the other call of duty games and sold 6.5 million copies in 24 hours. This was the biggest entertainment gross in the world. Until Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 came out this November and took the gaming community by storm. This release became the world most grossing video game in a single month on the market. It brought more multiplayer, but some criticised it as being repetitive. Tony Crow said “It was something new, but at the same time still the same game, one of the new features I did like were the score streaks.”
