Winter Tires vs. Studs vs. Chains

We have studless winter tires that are good for slush and hard snow because they have deep grooves, and they also have sharp edges to help cut through the packed snow.

Studded tires are just like winter tires, but have studs to help stop you from sliding a lot. They give you the best traction you can ask for; I use studded tires, and even if I purposefully try to slide, it won’t unless it’s water on ice.

Chains are mainly for big industrial vehicles. They’re easier to put on and take off than changing tires, but they do make a lot of noise.
