Staying In Touch

When you graduate or move homes or anything else, do you stay in touch with friends and family? Some people like to stay in touch, some people just don’t really care. Everyone has family or friends they stay in touch with out of state or just in a different country or city. A student in my journalism class named Jackson Nelson said “Yeah, I got friends in Idaho that I still stay in touch with. I have a cousin as well that’s like a brother to me that moved out of state and whom I still talk to every once in a while.” My 6th-period teacher Mx. Fletcher said “Yeah, I’m not very good at it but, I do have friends that I still talk to out of state.”

I would believe everyone has friends and family they still talk to every once in a while out of state or just in a different city in Alaska. Staying in touch is a very good thing to do but some people don’t. Although some people in the world don’t have people like that it is good to make people like that. I know quite a few people that have families they still talk to out of state or that just live in different places in Alaska. Over time staying in touch with friends and families has changed a lot. Back then it was very different from what it’s like today. Our parents didn’t have what we had when they were our age so talking to friends and family was probably very difficult.

According to pewresearch.org, the percentage of Americans that have a smartphone is 85%. It went up from a low 35% in 2011. So staying in touch has gotten very easy from what it used to be. People used to write letters. It’s not a very common thing anymore because of what we have in technology but, writing is good for people that went to prison. People have family prisons that probably get lots of letters. Everything changed drastically when phones were invented. According to pewresearch.org, 33% of adults say that the internet has improved their connection with their friends a lot. Nearly 25% say it has greatly improved their connections with their families. So the internet and devices have greatly improved connections with friends and family drastically. So, we have come a long way with the internet and phones and a lot of other things that have been invented over time. Collect calling was another thing that people used to call when they wanted to talk and reconnect with friends and family that they haven’t talked to in a while. Don’t forget Dimond to stay in touch with your friends and family.
