Should we have a later start for high schoolers? I have noticed kids sleeping in class and we all have fallen asleep in class and even if you say you never have that’s a lie. They say we should get a full eight hours of sleep but some teens work and don’t get off till late and then they have to get their homework done by that time they probably get done around midnight. I am one of those people and it’s tiring. They also say since we are going through hormonal changes so the teens don’t get tired till 11 o’clock. They also say teens who don’t get 8 hours of sleep are more likely to become overweight or get into bad things. If they delay the start times the kids would get more sleep and would be in fewer car accidents and getting pulled over for wanting to rush to school. The teens that work sometimes wake up late because they work late and they are always late. I agree I would love to have a delayed start time because most of the time my grades start slipping because I get super tired and don’t get my work done. But I have figured out a way on your off days to get all your schoolwork done so then during the week you can get to bed on time so you won’t be tired.
