NHS Prepares For Next School Year
National Honor Society members are busying themselves in preparation for the next year’s new members as well as new officers. “All people intending run for any of the offices need to send in their letters of intent soon!” said Danika Paskvan, a Dimond senior and NHS member and officer. New inductees also went to a meeting March 19 for information about the induction ceremony. Much seems to be happening in the National Honor Society world. Members volunteered March 19 at the annual Duct Tape Ball, downtown at the Marriot Hotel, and will volunteer in April at Kids Day at the Egan Center. At Kids Day, members will be reading to young children and promoting literacy in education. All of the “Think Don’t Drink” signs around school are a project of NHS. This is one of their grant projects where they support causes like No Teenage Drinking. National Honor Society is also beginning to plan for this year’s Teacher Appreciation Week.
