Coachella is the biggest music festival on the West coast. It gets it’s name from the area in Indio, California In the Coachella Valley. When I had first heard of Coachella it was last year after Tupac had been on stage, not the real Tupac just a hologram of him rapping with Snoop Dogg. Coachella was established in 2001 and has had popular artists such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, MGMT, and this year, Baauer is going. Baauer released the song called “Harlem Shake” on May 22, 2012, which will be a incredibly popular performance at Coachella. The song has blown up just now in february after a YouTube video featured a man in a motorcycle helmet dancing, and when the beat drops, everyone in the entire room starts to do random dances moves. Having not been to a event like this I am really looking forward to what I might experience. I asked someone I knew had been to a few concerts how they were. “I had a blast, right when the person you go there for steps out on stage you can feel the atmosphere change and the music is just perfect,” said Curtis Kufel Traejen Scott a Junion at Dimond this year told me about his trip to Hawaii where he saw Wiz Khalifa. “As soon as I arrived at the stadium the anticipation built. He came out and the first song he played was “When I’m Gone” said Traejen” Knowing that there’s so many different genres at such a big event is really exciting, being able to go to so many stages you are able to hear whatever you like. Red Hot Chili Peppers have gone to Coachella twice before and each show attracted so many people. Seeing the Chili Peppers is going to be a big todo on my list for Coachella. Being able to go on this trip with my best friend is going to make it so much better, first it was just with my sister which would have been cool, but there’s nothing like good music with a bud. The main concern people have with this years line up is that it isn’t as good as last year with hologram Tupac, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Justice, Radiohead, and the Black Keys. This years line up is not as big as last years, but the of hologram Tupac wasn’t released on the line up, they could even top it this year with something as a surprise. Either way, all the names selected make good music and the lineup definitely hasn’t affected ticket sales. According to LA time’s music section “Coachella reportedly sold out after 15 minutes.” Weekend two is the one I am going to, I hope I get to see all of these big names perform. Chili Peppers, Jurassic 5, Phoenix, Wu-Tang Clan, Passion Pit, and Benny Benassi are all on my list to see.
