Off-Campus Lunch

Lunch is a lot of people’s favorite part of the day, and since some people don’t have lunch. If you want to try something new, that’s why I’m here to give you some of the best hotspots for off-campus lunch!

First, we have McDonald’s. The safest option, but still a good one. There’s one at Dimond Blvd, Old Seward Highway, and Huffman Road. The most popular food bought there is the infamous Chicken McNuggets, and the delicious french fries, and sometimes people like to get a milkshake. That’s also my go-to meal when I go to Mcdonald’s. Also, one thing I found out is that you can order McDonald’s on your phone! You can order your favorite things, and then have an arranged curbside or drive-thru pickup!

Next, we have Raising Canes. My friends always get Raising Canes for lunch, because it’s just that scrum-diddly-umptious food. The most popular item to get at Raising Canes is the Caniac Combo. The Caniac Combo features 6 pieces of tasty fried chicken, perfectly-salted fries, coleslaw, Texas toast, and a soda/tea. That’s my favorite thing to get too. A surprising thing to know about is that the french fries are vegan made, so if you’re vegan, you can still head to Canes if you’re in the mood for fries! In my opinion, Raising Canes is one of the best in the chicken game, they can never go wrong.

Next, we have Wendy’s. Wendy’s is a far drive, so if you go to Wendy’s for lunch, I suggest calling your ride ahead of time! Wendy’s is most known for their delicious and crispy fries, and their tasty Frosty, which is their signature milkshake. Wendy’s is probably the healthiest option here because the food has fewer calories, fat, and sodium overall.

Another great place is Starbucks. Starbucks is also a very popular option at Dimond. People usually get only drinks at Starbucks, but you can also get food. There’s a lunch menu at Starbucks, and it features various amazing sandwiches. Like ham & swiss cheese on a baguette or a crispy grilled cheese on sourdough bread! If you want none of those, you can still get delicious snacks like a chocolate chip cookie or a cake pop of many flavors. And in terms of convenience, Starbucks is arguably the best option here. Depending on how long the line is, your whole time there could be about 3-6 minutes if you’re ordering normal things. But it should generally be around 3 minutes.

Lastly, your house. Don’t like fast food? That’s perfectly fine! Have your parents pick you up, or walk to your house to get lunch at home! Sometimes eating at your house can feel better, as it provides the comfort of relaxing there, changing the scenery, and just having a restful time during your school day. Hopefully, you can still come back on time for your next class period!

I hope I helped guide you through many choices of off-campus lunches, and that it inspires you to try new places. Thank you for reading, and as always, have a great day.
